From Club to World Stage
From your first time on a 29er to competing at the World Championships, the Victorian 9er Association is here to support Victorians every step of the way.
Introduction to 29er
The Aspiring 29er initiative was developed to make this step easy, fun and low cost. We can work with individuals, groups and clubs to get you started. Head over to the Aspiring 29er page for more details.
Club Coaching & Racing
Being part of a club is an important part of sailing, and trying a new class shouldn’t mean having to change clubs. We can work with you and your club to support your 29er development. We also support the Victorian Long Squad, with four inclusive winter camps providing a great environment to learn, develop skills and sail alongside other Victorian youth sailors.
Local Regattas
Local regattas are a great next step to build skills and confidence, meet other 29er sailors and enjoy racing at different venues. We support and promote events across Victoria to help bring the 29er community together.
State Championships
The Victorian 29er State Championships bring the whole fleet together for a great weekend of racing. We work with the host club to deliver an event that is competitive, welcoming and a highlight of the Victorian 29er season.
National Championships
Taking your racing interstate is an exciting next step. Our support of the Victorian Youth Sailing Team and Long Squad helps make that journey even better — representing Victoria as part of a broader team, with friendships and support that extend beyond the 29er fleet when competing around Australia.
World Stage
Competing internationally can be an amazing part of the 29er journey. Taking that step for the first time can also be a big one, and some experienced advice can go a long way. We can connect you with sailors and coaches who have made the journey, along with international contacts who can help you get started overseas.
